Professional Background

Len earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Prior to his studies at the University of Minnesota, Len was director of career and counseling services at a private university in northern California. Len worked in various settings including a Fortune 50 company, Silicon Valley, university career and counseling centers, non-profit organizations, as well as international and domestic counseling psychology training programs.

Currently, Len is a tenured, full professor teaching in a masters and doctoral level counseling psychology program in Minneapolis.  Len extensively studies the characteristics and practices of expert psychotherapists which has led to numerous publications, including the award-winning book Master Therapists. He is licensed as a psychologist in the state of Minnesota and has been in private practice since 1999.
